After nearly three years as resident guests with Amigos de los Animales, Carla and Sadie are finally headed to forever homes.
This
week they are being crate trained for the flight to Canada where they
will meet their experienced foster dog parents. Although initially in
foster home settings it is highly likely that both will stay
permanently. Sadie is going to Vancouver while Carla will reside in
Port Coquitlam.
Both will have nearly round-the-clock professional human companionship as they adjust to living "on the outside", learning to walk properly on a leash and the art of being housebroken. It is also important to note that both will have frequent access to doggie day care centers for fun and socialization.
There are simply no adequate words to describe both the joy of seeing Carla and Sadie head home and the appreciation for those that are receiving them.
A very special acknowledgement goes to Holly Norris (bigandsmallrescue.com) who has coordinated this effort with ADLA and Lynn Draper who will take over the management of the girls adoption once they arrive in Canada and who will accompany the girls during their flight to Canada. Both Holly and Lynn will work together to ensure a successful adoption for both.
Let's not forget either, the many volunteers and staff at ADLA over the last three years who never gave up hope that one day Carla and Sadie would find homes. A job very well done!
