Beauty with a Purpose

Gay ex-Carnaval queens and ADLA - What's the connection?

In case you have not heard of the female impersonator group Beauty with a Purpose now might be a good time.

Otherwise regular working males, they moonlight at night performing female impersonator shows.  Here's the twist - you can hire this very talented group for your event and a portion of their proceeds will be donated to a charity of your choice.

Linda Lee, a strong supporter of Amigos de los Animales hired them for a show recently and the alloted proceeds came to us.  By all accounts the show was a huge success!

During a brief interview at intermission, Gustavo (he was a queen in 2006) was quoted as saying "we are all poor, all of us queens.  We take the bus everywhere, we all have day jobs but we can do a lot of good with music, hair and costumes.  Our shows have helped people with cancer, people with AIDS, children in need and tonight's show a portion of the proceeds will go to Amigos de los Animales".

If you wish to learn more or hire this very talented group you can contact either one of their two patrons:  Kimberly Brown (ktchrkb@yahoo.com) or Arlene Johnson(ajpm411@gmail.com).

We wish Beauty with a Purpose all the best for their continued success and a big THANK YOU to them for their donation to Amigos de los Animales
